Interac Email Money Transfer

  Interac Email Money Transfer

It's simple. It's fast. And it's secure!

Owe your friend $20 for lunch? Need a convenient way to pay your employees' wages?

If you're an RBC Online Banking customer, you can quickly and easily transfer funds to friends, family or business partners with a bank account at another Canadian financial institution. All you need is the person's email address and a security question and answer that only you and the recipient know.

Key Facts, Features and Benefits

  • No money is sent through email. The recipient's email address is only used to notify them that their money is waiting to be collected.
  • Transfers can only be made from Canadian dollar accounts.
  • There is no service fee to receive an Interac Email Money Transfer. However, if the recipient does not bank online, they may be charged a service fee* to register and provide account information to receive the funds within 3-5 business days.
  • There is a non-refundable fee of $1.50 to send an Interac Email Money Transfer (this is withdrawn immediately from the sender's account). Certain banking packages include free Interac Email Money Transfers.
  • You can review the status of current and past transfers on the "Payment History" tab on the Pay Bills & Transfer Funds page in Online Banking.

*Service fee rendered by the Axcsys/Certapay a division of Interac
