ANSWER: For RBC Avion cardholders and eligible RBC banking account holders, there is a Maximum Ticket Price in effect for each destination, indicated on the Avion Air Travel Redemption Schedule. For example, a flight from Vancouver to Edmonton requires 15,000 RBC Rewards points and has a Maximum Ticket Price of $350. (All taxes and service fees are all separate and are not part of the ticket price.) If the base ticket cost exceeds the Maximum Ticket Price, the additional cost can either be charged to your RBC Avion card or you can use your points at a rate of 100 points = $1 CDN. There is no minimum point value needed to redeem, and the remaining balance can be paid with your RBC Royal Bank Visa card. ANSWER: For most credit cards that are associated with an airline rewards program, any points you have earned are part of your membership in that program, not the credit card account.
