HomeProtector Insurance

What if I'm refinancing my mortgage?

One unique feature of HomeProtector is that if you are already insured and you are adding-on to or refinancing your mortgage in the amount of $100,000 or less, and your total insured is $500,000 or less, and you are less than 70 years old, you are able to re-apply for the same coverage without providing evidence of insurability or be actively at work.

Do I have to answer health questions at refinance?

You will not be required to answer any health questions if:

  • The total being added to the mortgage is $100,000 or less
  • The total of all insured RBC Royal Bank mortgages, plus any mortgage for which you're applying for HomeProtector, does not exceed $500,000
  • You're applying for the same coverage
  • You're less than 70 years old
