Take charge of your financial situation like never before. Learn how to get set up and started with Online Banking, so you can conveniently access and manage all your accounts. Plus, there are many other tools right at your fingertips – like online cheque ordering and viewing your RBC Direct Investing and RBC Dominion Securities accounts using My View™ Account Profile.
- Getting Started
RBC Online Banking is safe and secure. Every time you access your account online, you’re protected with the latest security and encryption features. For added security, RBC uses Sign In Protection. And, when you enrol online or by phone, you’ll be mailed an Activation Code, which gives you full Online Banking access. Once your code arrives, enter it where indicated on the Sign In page. In the meantime, you can still bank online – including viewing balances, paying certain bills and more.
- Sign In and Activation Code
If you use the Internet or telephone to enrol in Online Banking, you’ll be mailed a unique Activation Code within 5 to 10 days of your enrolment. Once you receive this code, it’s important that you follow the simple 2-step process to enter it where indicated on the Sign In page. You can still do many popular Online Banking transactions without a code. But, once it’s entered, you’ll have full access to every Online Banking feature and service.
If you don’t receive your Activation Code within 5-10 days of your enrolment, call 1-800-ROYAL®55.
- Sign In Protection
This optional feature helps to protect you from unauthorized access to Online Banking from other computers. If you accept our secure cookie, you’ll only be prompted to answer a Personal Verification Question when signing in from computers other than the one you normally use. If you choose not to accept the cookie, you’ll be prompted to answer your Personal Verification Question every time you sign in.
If you don’t have Sign In Protection, you can activate it on the Update Profile page.
- Signing in with Sign In Protection
When you set up Sign In Protection, you’ll be prompted to save a secure cookie, which helps RBC recognize you on subsequent visits from that computer. After that, each time you sign in from that computer, your Personal Verification Question will be bypassed. However, when you sign in from other computers, you will be required to answer a Personal Verification Question. This added measure of security helps to protect you from fraudulent activity, even if your card number and password fall into the wrong hands.
- Adjusting Sign In Protection Preferences
On computers where you are recognized by the security recognition cookie, you can adjust your Sign In Protection settings, so you’re asked a Personal Verification Question every time.
