Paulette Martel of St-Leon, Man. has won the $5,000 grand prize in the RBC Farm Photography Contest for her image, Seeding among giants.
Martel's image, which shows a striking juxtaposition, was taken at the 1,280-acre Martel Brothers Farm where her family operates a mixed cropping operation. "The windmills have provided another source of income for farmers, and have helped the town by bringing in tourists," says Martel.
For this year's RBC Farm Photography Contest, Canadians were encouraged to present a photograph that shows us how they are building their business for the future. All of these winning photos reflect the diversity, vitality and creativity of today’s producer.
Joni Wooff of Saskatoon, Sask. took the $2,000 second prize with her image, Our future farmer.
