A U.S. dollar account with chequing privileges, allows you to save in U.S. dollars when exchange rates are favourable.

If you're a frequent traveller to the U.S., the U.S. Personal account enables you to purchase U.S. dollars when exchange rates are favourable and make withdrawals at RBC Royal Bank® branches in Canada before departing for the U.S.

What you need to know:

When you meet with personal banker, you will be asked for:

  1. Two Pieces of Identification.
  2. Purpose of account.
  3. Anticipated activity.
  4. Source of Funds for initial deposit / transaction through the account.
  5. Occupation.
  6. Date of Birth.
  7. Whether the account is for your use or whether it will be used by or on behalf of a third party and, if it will be used by a third party, particular information about that third party.
