Registered Disability Savings Plan

RBC RDSP

Eligible investments for your Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP)

Within an RBC RDSP, you have access to a wide variety of investment options including RBC Funds, RBC GICs and RBC Savings Deposits.

There are no annual administration or withdrawal fees. You also have the opportunity to make regular, pre-authorized contributions through RDSP-Matic™.

An RBC advisor can work with you to help you choose the investment that’s right for you.

Mutual Funds

If you want your RDSP to benefit from diversification and professional money management, then RBC Funds could be the right choice for you.

RBC Funds are managed by RBC Asset Management Inc.®, Canada's largest mutual fund family, with over $90 billion in assets under management and more than 1.2 million investors.

RBC Funds was recognized by Lipper as Best Overall Fund Group in Canada for the second consecutive year, with the best adjusted performance over three years*.

Our wide selection of mutual funds and portfolio solutions spans all asset classes, geographies and investment styles. RBC Funds also encompass tax-efficient, currency–neutral, and socially responsible investment options.

Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs)

An RBC GIC could be ideal for your RDSP if you want to invest for a specific term at a guaranteed rate without risking your initial investment. Your investment earns interest, at either a fixed rate, or based on a pre-determined formula. In general, GICs with longer terms earn higher interest rates.

Key Benefits of RBC GICs1:

  • Your original investment and interest rate are guaranteed for the full term of the investment2
  • Competitive interest rates
  • Flexible investment terms ranging from 30 days to 10 years

Savings Deposits

Similar to a regular savings account, RBC Savings Deposits are a simple way to start contributing to your Registered Disability Savings Plan. They can be particularly useful if you are not ready to make a long-term investment decision.

Key Benefits of RDSP Savings Deposits:

  • Security and safety
  • Interest calculated daily and paid semi-annually
  • Low minimum deposit required
  • Easy and convenient access to your money
  • Ability to switch the funds to RBC GICs or RBC Funds
