Official Terms & Conditions

1. Promotional Offer

   Open an RBC Signature No Limit Banking™ or RBC VIP Banking™ account between May 1, 2007 and August 31, 2007 (the "Promotional Period") and receive a choice of one (1) free gift card from either HBC, Esso or Future Shop with a retail value of $150.00 CDN.

2. How to Qualify

   There are three steps to be taken to qualify:

   (i) Open an RBC Signature No Limit Banking or RBC VIP Banking account during the Promotional Period using either our online application at www.rbc.com/giftcard, by calling 1 800 769-2511 or in person at any RBC Royal Bank^® branch; and

   (ii). Complete 1 (one) account balance transfer from another Canadian financial institution via your branch or with CustomSwitch^® by October 31, 2007; and

   (iii) Transfer 1 (one) automated payroll direct deposit or monthly pension direct deposit to your new RBC Signature No Limit Banking or Royal VIP Banking account by October 31, 2007.

3. Gift Card Redemption

   (i) Once you have opened an RBC Signature No Limit Banking or RBC VIP Banking account and met the requirements outlined in paragraph 2, you will receive a notification, via mail, containing a unique gift card selection code.

   (ii) For website gift card selection, login to www.rbc.com/giftcard. Enter the unique gift card selection code included in the notification, confirm the personal information and then select your preferred gift card. A printable confirmation will be generated and it is recommended that this confirmation be printed and/or saved for future reference. Gift card selection must be completed by December 31, 2007. For offline gift card selection, please contact customer service at 1 866-484-6776.

   (iii) Gift card selections must be completed by December 31, 2007.

   (iv) The selected gift card will be mailed to the address provided. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery. Limit one free gift card per client and per account.

4. General Conditions

   (i) This promotional offer only applies to personal deposit accounts.

   (ii) Joint accounts are eligible for only 1 (one) gift card.

   (iii) Personal deposit account customers must be legal residents of Canada and have reached the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside on or before the start of the Promotional Period.

   (iv) This offer is not open to employees of the Sponsor, its agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries and advertising and promotional agencies associated with this Promotion. However, for greater certainty, employees of HBC, Esso and Future Shop may participate in the Promotion.

   (v) The Sponsor and the independent promotional organization shall not bear liability or responsibility arising from or in any way relating to the Promotion, including, without limitation, termination of the Promotion or for any damage to an entrant's computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of the entrant's participation in this promotion.

   (vi) Individual gift card terms, conditions and expiry periods apply and are set by the issuing vendor.

5. Limitations

   (i) Should the Promotion not be capable of running as planned for any reason, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security or proper conduct of this Promotion, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to, without prior notice, terminate or suspend the Promotion, in whole or in part, or modify it in any way.

   (ii) The Sponsor reserves the right in its absolute discretion to vary, delete or add to any of these terms and conditions of the Promotion from time to time without prior notice. In the event of conflict, these terms and conditions shall prevail over any of the contents of any brochure or other promotional materials advertising this Promotion.

   (iii) The Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw the Promotion in whole or in part, or to vary any of the Terms and Conditions herein at any time and from time to time without notice in its absolute discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right to end the Promotion earlier or to extend the Promotional Period in its absolute discretion.

   (iv) The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend, disqualify, limit or revoke this Offer to any person or account holder it finds or believes to be manipulating or otherwise abusing the process, fairness, integrity or operation of the Promotion.
