Using a PIN with your RBC® Visa* Card

Purchases made at chip-enabled terminals with your RBC Chip and PIN Visa card will no longer require your signature. Conversion to chip will take time so you will notice that your card will continue to be swiped at stores and restaurants that do not yet have chip-enabled terminals. You will still need to sign for these purchases but rest assured that these transactions continue to be extremely secure and Visa Zero Liability policy continues to protect you in the event that you are subject to fraud.

For stores and restaurants without chip-enabled terminals, you will continue to be protected by swiping the magnetic stripe on your card and signing the receipt as you do today. Transactions made online or over the telephone will not require your PIN and as a reminder you should never disclose your PIN to anyone.

To change your PIN or to reset a forgotten PIN, please visit any RBC Royal Bank branch.
