Electronic Banking Agreement (Revised)

At RBC we are constantly seeking ways to enhance our client experience and offer the most convenient and secure options for transacting business. Part of this process includes the review of our product and service agreements from time to time to reflect those changes.

Beginning on September 2nd 2016, we invite our clients to review our new Electronic Banking Agreement, which will take effect on October 5th, 2016.

Why did we update the Electronic Banking Agreement?

For the convenience of our clients we’re working hard to reduce the number of agreements that our clients must sign. We are also updating our terms and conditions which will also be supported by the RBC Security Guarantee, to prepare for our new Mobile Banking option.

Which agreements have changed?

  • ROL & ROLG Online Services Client Agreement; the Terms and Conditions; the 24 hour Banking Service Agreement (EC, Barbados, Bahamas, TCI, Cayman Islands)

What changes have been made to the Electronic Banking Agreement?

The entire agreement has been overhauled and updated, and the major changes include:
  • New terms and conditions for the upcoming Mobile Banking App
  • The formula for amending and changing the agreement - Giving the Client prior notice of any such amendments within a reasonable timeframe through any method of communication that the Relevant RBC Company desires to utilize.
  • Clarification of what the client is liable for and when RBC will reimburse (RBC Security Guarantee) the client for any losses resulting from using an Electronic Channel
  • Verification and Records through eStatements (as applicable to system/if available)
