RBC Royal Bank employees collected more than 1,500 pounds of debris from Bonefish Pond, Williams Town Beach and Calcutta Beach on the weekend in observance of World Environment Day and World Oceans Day. The initiative is part of RBC’s commitment to environmental sustainability and an investment in the future of the planet.
RBC employees in Nassau, Freeport and Marsh Harbour gathered to clear garbage, and other debris, including glass bottles, aluminium cans, plastic bags, and Styrofoam containers along the beaches. Team RBC in Nassau collected 40 bags of debris weighing 1,250 lbs. RBC volunteers in Abaco compiled 10 bags weighing 150 lbs, while Team RBC in Freeport gathered seven bags weighing 135 lbs. The team’s effort was done in partnership with The Bahamas National Trust, Ministry of Tourism and Friends of the Environment.
