3. How do I access my U.S. account through RBC Online Banking (Canadian)?
First you need to enroll in RBC Bank (U.S.) Online Banking. Then you can link your U.S. and Canadian accounts by following these simple steps:
- Sign in to RBC Bank Online Banking and click your name as it appears next to the padlock icon at the top of the screen.
- Click “Link your RBC Royal Bank and RBC U.S. Banking Accounts” and follow the simple on-screen instructions.
Once the accounts are linked, you can access both accounts through RBC Online Banking (Canadian).
4. I don’t have a U.S. credit history; how can I qualify for an RBC Bank U.S. credit card?
To help you secure a U.S. credit card, RBC Bank will take your Canadian credit history and relationship with RBC Royal Bank into consideration.
5. How do I transfer funds from my Canadian RBC account to my new cross-border bank account?
It’s easy to transfer funds once you’ve linked your RBC Bank (U.S.) and RBC Royal Bank (Canadian) accounts. Simply select the Canadian account to be debited and indicate that your new RBC Bank U.S. bank account should receive the funds. Then select the amount you need to transfer and click “Continue”. The currency conversion is done automatically and the online transfer is instant and free!1
6. How do I check the currency exchange rate before I make a money transfer between my U.S. and Canadian RBC accounts?
The conversion rate will appear whenever you perform a funds transfer. Then you can decide to either complete or cancel your transaction.
7. Do I need to convert Canadian money to U.S. dollars before transferring?

9. Can I pay my RBC Bank credit card bill through online banking?
Yes! The easiest way to pay your RBC Bank credit card bill is by using the transfer funds feature within RBC Bank (U.S.) Online Banking.
- Enter the amount you wish to pay and which account you want to pay it from by using the “From Account” menu.
- Select your RBC Bank credit card from the “To Account” menu and follow the prompts.
10. Do RBC Rewards points expire?
All RBC Rewards points have a three-year term and will expire at the end of the three years based on first-in, first-out (FIFO) principles. Points will be cleared from your account on the last day of the month in which the points expire. For example, points earned on July 5, 2015 will expire on July 31, 2018.
Base and bonus points will have the same three-year expiration term, so be sure to take advantage of them before they expire.
11. Can I transfer points to my RBC Rewards account in Canada?
Yes, these points can be transferred. When transferring points, they are converted at a 2 to 1 ratio from RBC Bank to Royal Bank of Canada. That means, for every 2 RBC Bank Rewards points transferred, you will receive 1 RBC Rewards point from Royal Bank of Canada. Once points are transferred, they will be governed by the Terms and Conditions of the RBC Rewards Program at Royal Bank of Canada.
