1) Savings are based on a comparison of the cost of banking service fees for a typical account holder with an RBC Day to Day Banking® account versus an RBC VIP Banking account. For this calculation, the following assumptions regarding service use were made: 90 debits per month for 3 accounts, 5 other ATM withdrawals per month, 2 Interac email money transfers per month, Overdraft protection, 4 money orders or drafts, $165 Rebate on an eligible Visa card, use of safety deposit box, 1 cheque order annually, $1,000 CDN of travelers cheques purchased annually, $100 travel coupon.
2) ATM operator surcharge (also called convenience fee) may apply. Each account cash withdrawal at an ATM outside Canada displaying the PLUS System symbol, and any fees that may be imposed by any third party for using the ATM, are converted to Canadian dollars at an exchange rate which is 2.5% over the base rate set by Visa International in effect at the time of processing. Exchange rates fluctuate and, as such, the rate applied will usually differ from the posted exchange rate at the time of the transaction.
3) Excludes RBC High Interest eSavings account and RBC Investment Savings account.
4) Monthly fee waived. Overdraft interest charge applies if used.
5) One certificate per customer. Can be used towards any preferred supplier vacation package, tour or cruise booking with a minimum value of $2,500, exclusive of taxes. Certificates can be combined: one certificate with each $2,500 worth of travel. Valid for two years from date of issue.
6) RBC Rewards points are earned only on net purchases; they are not earned on cash advances (including RBC Royal Bank credit card cheques and balance transfers), interest charges, fees and credit for returns and adjustments will reduce or cancel the points earned by the amounts originally charged.
