Interac Online

Shop online—simply and securely—through Interac* Online and RBC Online Banking!

Interac Online is a secure and easy-to-use online payment option that allows you to shop online and pay for purchases through Online Banking directly from your bank account with RBC.

Interac Online offers several benefits, including:

  • Security – You'll enjoy the comfort of knowing your payment is completed by RBC Royal Bank®, a company you know and trust.
  • Protection of Your Online Banking Information - Because your Interac Online payment is processed through Online Banking, you do not have to provide personal information (such as client card numbers, passwords or log-in information) to the online merchant.
  • Ease-of-use - Since the payment is processed through Online Banking, you don't need to create new online accounts or passwords.

How does Interac Online work?

Follow these simple steps to pay for purchases over the Internet using Interac Online through an account you access with Online Banking:

  1. Shop for goods and services at participating online merchants. When you are ready to purchase, select Interac Online as a payment method.
  2. Choose RBC Royal Bank from the list of Participating Financial Institutions. You will be directed to RBC Online Banking's secure sign-in page to enter your Client Card number and your existing Online Banking password.
  3. Choose the RBC account you want to use to make the payment.
  4. Confirm the payment through Online Banking and you will be returned to the merchant's Web site.
  5. Print your purchase confirmation page from the merchant's Web site. Keep the purchase confirmation page for your records.

There are no additional transaction fees that apply for using Interac Online other than those fees ordinarily applicable under your bank account or package for payments made through Online Banking.

Is Interac Online secure?

Yes, Interac Online is secure. When processing your Interac Online payment, RBC Royal Bank does not share any personal financial information with the online merchant.

While we make every effort to provide you with a secure Online Banking session for making payments using Interac Online, you should review our safe computing practices by visiting our Security Web site before using this service to ensure you are taking measures to keep your computer safe.
