Bank drafts can be used to make a payment to a third party in almost any currency while money orders are ideal for small personal remittances, both in Canada and abroad.

Bank drafts and money orders are a convenient and secure means of payment, and may be easily cashed both here in Canada and overseas. They are more easily negotiated than postal money orders and are less vulnerable than cash to loss or theft.

• Canadian and U.S. World Money Orders can be issued in amounts up to $1,000
• Sterling Money Orders may be sold up to a maximum of GBP 250

Bank drafts and money orders are available for a fee of $6.50 each (any currency). And, depending on your banking package, you may be entitled to several commission-free bank drafts or money orders per year.

*U.S. dollar money orders and drafts cannot be sold to non-RBC clients. U.S. regulations require financial institutions to know with whom they are dealing before any transaction is completed.
