Timing
For most people, choosing when to retire will be based largely on their financial resources and ability to support their chosen lifestyle with those resources.
Ask yourself:
- are you contemplating early retirement - perhaps as early as 55 or 60 - or are you planning to work for as long as you can - up to age 70 in some jurisdictions?
- when, if applicable, does your spouse or partner plan to retire?
- are you committed to this date or are you flexible?
