During her four years of undergraduate study, she worked and volunteered for Hospice Greater Saint John, which provides services for individuals and families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. She has not yet confirmed an area of specialization, but is interested in palliative medicine in conjunction with family medicine or oncology. Trained in nuclear medicine technology, she may also consider a specialization in that field upon completion of her studies.

Discovering a fascination with anatomy and physiology, she transferred to the Faculty of Science to prepare for a career in medicine. At Dalhousie she has joined both the Aboriginal Health Interest Group and the Global Health Initiative. Their selflessness inspired her to seek out a profession where she could help others. Knowing the impact that our aging population will have on the field of dentistry, she plans to focus her education on endodontics and prosthodontics so she can restore lost oral function in the aged. She also intends to advocate on behalf of those whose financial situation prevents them from receiving the dental care they need.
