1) The application itself is divided into three sections. Complete each section as follows:
Contact & School Details
- Requires you to provide basic contact details, including your email address, phone number, mailing address, etc.
- For Graduating High School or CEGEP Student Applicants: Requires you to provide information about your high school or CEGEP and your intent to attend a university or college as a full-time student in the Fall 2010 academic term as well as your cumulative GPA, etc.
- For University or College Student Applicants: Requires you to provide information about your college or university, program of study, cumulative GPA, etc.
Interests & Activities
- Requires you to provide information on your extracurricular activities, volunteerism and paid work experience.
Essay Questions
- Requires you to complete two essay questions about the community or environmental issue that you are passionate about and how you would mobilize others for your cause. The first essay question has a limit of 100 words while the second has a limit of 500 words.
- Your essay answers will be judged based on a combination of the following:
- Creativity/originality
- Clarity of thought and communication of arguments
- Persuasiveness
- Potential positive impact
- Grammar and spelling
Application Scoring
The scoring percentage breakdown for individual applications is as follows:
- Academic Achievement: 10% of total score
- Extracurricular Activity: 35% of total score
- Essay Answers: 55% of total score
Please remember to not include any personal information such as names, addresses or schools attended in your essays.
2) You will be required to review and accept the Scholarship Terms and Conditions on the application form.
3) If you are under 17, your parent or legal guardian must review the Scholarship Terms and Conditions and confirm acceptance on your behalf.
