8. What does the person I'm sending to need to do to receive it?

There are two ways your recipient can receive funds through RBC International Remittance:

  • Credit Account: If you know your recipient's bank name and account number, RBC will simply transfer the funds directly into his or her account.
  • Pay Upon Identification: If your recipient does not have a bank account, RBC can transfer the funds to an international bank branch. The bank will release the funds to your recipient with proof of identity (such as a government–issued photo ID). It is a good idea to have the recipient check with the bank regarding what identification is needed and whether the bank accepts pay upon identification.
