For some, that might mean heading south each winter; for others, spending more time with family. How you spend your retirement is a personal decision. But the question is, how do you save enough to comfortably retire on your own terms? The short answer: consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Set it and forget it<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A regular investment plan allows you to choose when, how often and how much you contribute to your investments throughout the year. This helps ensure that your savings goals remain a priority throughout the entire year, and not only during certain periods \u2013 like the yearly RRSP contribution deadline that causes a flurry of last-minute transfers. Setting up a pre-authorized contribution plan, also known as a PAC, let&#8217;s you <a href=\"https:\/\/discover.rbcroyalbank.com\/what-it-really-means-to-pay-yourself-first\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">automate your investments<\/a> so you don&#8217;t have to think about it regularly. Frequent contributions from your PAC can really add up. Even more so if you gradually increase the amount you contribute each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s explore this further and examine how different choices investors make can change the amount of wealth that accumulates over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are three hypothetical investors who invest in markets at the end of each month. This consistency is one of the keys to success.
