What you don\u2019t see is that behind the lens, they\u2019re checking their bank account balance and monitoring their investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Quebec-based couple have spent the last seven years travelling the world and sharing their adventures on social media, building a popular brand as both a couple and individuals. In a video call with&nbsp;<em>Inspired Investor<\/em>, the content creators tried to count the number of countries they\u2019ve visited together\u2014somewhere around 30, they think. However, they admit they needed help with one journey: how to navigate the world of investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe really wanted to do it, but we just didn&#8217;t know how,\u201d Sperandio said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further complicating matters, like many young couples, the two came into their relationship with different&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbcroyalbank.com\/en-ca\/my-money-matters\/inspired-investor\/ideas-and-motivation\/whats-your-money-mindset-and-is-it-working-for-you-take-our-quiz-to-find-out-2\/\" data-dig-id=\"LP-86230-7712296a\" data-dig-category=\"LP\" data-dig-action=\"link click\" data-dig-label=\"money styles\" class=\"rbc-link-format\">money styles<\/a>. They were both in their mid-20s, yet they were living in different financial worlds. St-Amand was comfortable managing his own finances and had a clear philosophy about using money as a tool to help him do what he wants in life. Sperandio came into the relationship with \u201cno knowledge about finances.\u201d She was $15,000 in debt. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Building a successful business and putting debt behind them for good wasn\u2019t easy or straightforward. There were setbacks along the way. In their first year in business together, St-Amand and Sperandio did a big project in Hawaii and pulled in $10,000. What they didn\u2019t realize was that another major bill was coming their way: taxes. As fledgling entrepreneurs, they had no idea that they should have been putting money aside for taxes, let alone how much. After paying what they owed, their business was $50,000 in the red. They had to work twice as hard the following year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe learned a lot through our first year of business and now we make smarter choices,\u201d Sperandio said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of those smart choices was turning&nbsp;to RBC&nbsp;because they also work with St-Amand\u2019s mother\u2019s and grandmother\u2019s finances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cWe can see the money growing and doing well,\u201d Sperandio added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The couple are both 32-years old and don\u2019t have a particular investment goal or a long-term financial plan just yet. They see lots of possibilities. Already this year, St-Amand took a trip to India and Bali, while Sperandio worked on the new season of a podcast she\u2019s producing with her best friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One idea they\u2019re considering is an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbcroyalbank.com\/en-ca\/my-money-matters\/inspired-investor\/ideas-and-motivation\/how-can-i-save-enough-to-comfortably-retire\/\" data-dig-id=\"LP-86230-999d0ae3\" data-dig-category=\"LP\" data-dig-action=\"link click\" data-dig-label=\"early&nbsp;retirement\" class=\"rbc-link-format\">early&nbsp;retirement<\/a>, and they\u2019re putting money into an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbcroyalbank.com\/investments\/rrsp.html\" data-dig-id=\"LP-86230-091f1d2e\" data-dig-category=\"LP\" data-dig-action=\"link click\" data-dig-label=\"RRSP&nbsp;\" class=\"rbc-link-format\">RRSP&nbsp;<\/a>to support that.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mostly though, the couple just knows that whatever their future looks like,&nbsp;they\u2019ll need to work towards it with knowledgeable professionals guiding them.&nbsp;Their experience has taught them that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbcroyalbank.com\/en-ca\/my-money-matters\/inspired-investor\/ideas-and-motivation\/why-my-first-100000-was-a-magical-milestone-and-what-comes-next\/\" data-dig-id=\"LP-86230-775a8d54\" data-dig-category=\"LP\" data-dig-action=\"link click\" data-dig-label=\"every goal, whether big or small, needs a plan\" class=\"rbc-link-format\">every goal, whether big or small, needs a plan<\/a>. That could be their business, a home, further education, or retirement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbcroyalbank.com\/en-ca\/my-money-matters\/inspired-investor\/investing-academy\/why-investing-is-one-of-the-best-gifts-you-can-give-yourself\/\" data-dig-id=\"LP-86230-1504eb6c\" data-dig-category=\"LP\" data-dig-action=\"link click\" data-dig-label=\"You cannot regret investing\" class=\"rbc-link-format\">You cannot regret investing<\/a>,\u201d Sperandio said. \u201cIt\u2019s like a workout; you never regret going to the gym.
