Sadly, these unlucky-in-love scenarios add up, with romance scams costing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cba.ca\/avoiding-the-romance-scam\" target=\"_blank\" data-dig-id=\"LP-92358-a41637d9\" data-dig-category=\"LP\" data-dig-action=\"link click\" data-dig-label=\"Canadians $50.3 million in 2023\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"rbc-link-format\">Canadians $50.3 million in 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But you can stay safe as you explore the apps, as long as you know the warning signs.
