It could also help businesses operate more efficiently, and we\u2019re already seeing that across some clients we support. That said, for AI to become part of everyday economic life, people and businesses have to trust it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To perform these tasks, personal AI agents need access to your online accounts, including financial ones, and may store your passwords to get there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But as these systems become more autonomous, the stakes go up when something goes wrong\u2014from fraud and consumer harm to risks that could ripple more broadly through the financial system. That\u2019s why, after careful consideration and based on what we know today, RBC has decided to block third-party personal AI agents from direct access to authenticated RBC digital properties including online banking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why we&#8217;re taking this action<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At RBC, your security and privacy come first. and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-rbc-list-item\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">any failure, error, malfunction, or technical problem of our system or equipment or that of any Third-Party Service Provider or any Third Party participating in <em>Interac<\/em> Online Payment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-sm-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Your responsibilities<\/strong>: Despite the above, we are not responsible for and we will not reimburse you for losses to your Account(s) if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-rbc-list is-style-blue-disc\">\n<li class=\"wp-block-rbc-list-item\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">you do not comply with any of your obligations under this Agreement or you do not comply with any instructions we may provide to you in connection with Digital Banking or Mobile Payments;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-rbc-list-item\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">you engage in any fraudulent, criminal or dishonest acts related to Digital Banking or Mobile Payments;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-rbc-list-item\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">you access Digital Banking or Mobile Payments via a Device that you know or reasonably should know contains software that has the ability to reveal or otherwise compromise any of your Passwords, Personal Verification Questions or an e-Transfer Question and Answer;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-rbc-list-item\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">you carry out the transaction, including if the transaction is a result of any mistake, error, omission, inaccuracy or other inadequacy of, or contained in any data or information that you give to us;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-rbc-list-item\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">you share any of your Passwords or Personal Verification Questions; or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"wp-block-rbc-list-item\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">you consent to, contribute to or authorize a transaction in any way.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-sm-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Exceptional Losses<\/strong>: In no event, even if we are negligent, will we be liable for any loss of data, or any indirect, consequential, special, aggravated, punitive or exemplary damages, in whole or in part, (including any business interruption, loss of profits, data, information, opportunity, revenues, goodwill or any other commercial or economic loss), caused to you, regardless of the cause of action, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For full details regarding the protections and limitations of the RBC Digital Banking Security Guarantee, including your responsibilities in ensuring the safety and security of your transactions, please see your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbcroyalbank.com\/onlinebanking\/electronic-access-agreement.html\">Electronic Access Agreement<\/a> and your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbcroyalbank.com\/onlinebanking\/servicech\/pdf\/PDA_Client_Card_Personal_Identification_Number_Agreement.PDF\">Client Card Agreement<\/a> for personal banking clients, and the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rbcroyalbank.com\/online\/_assets-custom\/pdf\/mca-agreement-en.pdf\">Master Client Agreement<\/a> for business clients.
