How Do I...

You are on: Sign In Protection

What is Sign in Protection? How do I use it?

Sign-In Protection helps protect the accounts you access through Online Banking from any location, by having you provide information only you would know in the form of Personal Verification Questions, which are shared securely between you and RBC Royal Bank.

Sign-In Protection prevents access to your Online Banking information from any computer it does not recognize unless the correct answer to your Personal Verification Question is provided. This gives you even greater protection against any unauthorized users.

To use Sign in Protection

  1. From your Accounts Summary page, select your name in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Select the "Personal Verification Questions" link.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts.

During the setup process, you will create three Personal Verification Questions. Once you are enrolled, you may occasionally be asked one or more Personal Verification Questions when you sign in to Online Banking. If the question(s) are not answered, you will not be able to continue into Online Banking.

You can change your password quickly and easily within Online Banking.

You are on: Send Money

How do I send money to another RBC Royal Bank client?

You can transfer money using Online Banking to most other personal or business accounts of RBC customers.

You'll need the account number you're transferring money into, and the name of the person who holds that account. You may also need Sign in Protection, a feature that provides protection against any unauthorized users. You can learn more about Sign in Protection on at:

www.rbcroyalbank.com/welcome/published/

When you're ready to do the transfer, sign in to Online Banking, then:

  2. Enter an amount that does not exceed your RBC Royal Bank Client Card daily limit.
  3. Choose the account to debit.
  4. Select "Other RBC Royal Bank Customer" in the "To" box.
  5. Click "Submit."
  6. Enter the customer's surname, first name, account number and branch number.
  7. Select the "Add to Payee List" checkbox, to save the information for future use:
  8. Click "Confirm."

It's important to remember that this type of payment is processed immediately — so once you've made your transfer, you won't be able to reverse it.

How do I view and redeem RBC Rewards points in Online Banking?
