Part L: eGift Services – Terms and Conditions

  1. Introduction. The terms and conditions of this Part L (i) apply only when you use the eGift Services; (ii) are in addition to the general terms and conditions set out in Part B of this Agreement; and (iii) replace all prior agreements between you and us for the eGift Services. If there is a conflict between this Part L and the general terms and conditions in Part B of this Agreement, this Part L will apply to the extent necessary to resolve the conflict. The terms and conditions in Part E of this Agreement apply to e-Transfers initiated through the eGift Services.
  2. eGift Services. You authorize and direct Royal Bank and any Third Party Service Provider of the eGift Services (for the purposes of this Part L, "we" or "us") to do, on your behalf, all things necessary to provide the eGift Services to you. This may include facilitating the delivery of personalized e-Transfers or Prepaid Cards in permitted forms, as well as complete any eGift Service that you request. You confirm to us you have the right to give us this authorization and direction.
  3. Cancellation of e-Transfer Sent through the eGift Services. In addition to using the e-Transfer Service to cancel an e-Transfer, for e-Transfers initiated through the eGift Service, you may also cancel the e-Transfer using the eGift Service by going to the “Your Gift History” section of the eGift Service landing page. Once you select the relevant transaction, you will be given the option to cancel the e-Transfer.
  4. Claiming of e-Transfer Sent through the eGift Services. (a) An e-Transfer initiated through the eGift Service is claimed once a Recipient has correctly responded to the e-Transfer Question and Answer initiated through the eGift Service.
    (b) The e-Transfer Question and Answer used for an e-Transfer initiated through the e-Gift Service does not override any previously saved e-Transfer Question and Answer and it is not saved for any future e-Transfer or e-Transfer initiated through the eGift Service.
  5. Sending a Prepaid Card through the eGift Services. You are responsible for providing correct and operational contact information (such as an email address or mobile number) for the eGift Recipient and ensuring that the eGift Recipient has consented to you providing and Us using the contact information of the eGift Recipient for the purposes of sending the Prepaid Card. The electronic message may identify you as the sender, and may also disclose your email address, Prepaid Card amount, the name of the eGift Recipient, and that you are using the eGift Services.
  6. Cancelling a Prepaid Card through the eGift Services. You may cancel a Prepaid Card sent using the eGift Service by going to the “Your Gift History” section of the eGift Service landing page. Once you select the relevant transaction, you will be given the option to cancel a Prepaid Card which has not been claimed.
  7. Claiming of Prepaid Card Sent through the eGift Services. A Prepaid Card sent through the eGift Service is claimed once an eGift Recipient has correctly responded to the eGift Question and Answer.
