FAQ

Is there a limit on transactions I can make with my client card?

Yes. To help keep your accounts safe, all client cards have daily limits for transactions made outside of a branch.

To find out your daily limits for ATM withdrawals, purchases, transfers and more:

  1. Sign in to Online Banking.
    The Accounts Summary page appears.
  2. On the right side of the Accounts Summary page, choose Daily Transaction Limits.
Your limits for each transaction type appear in a table.

When does money deposited at an ATM or through Mobile Banking become available?

When you make an RBC Royal Bank ATM or mobile cheque deposit, you can only access a portion of your deposit right away. Before releasing the entire amount, we need to confirm that the deposit has been made. Regardless of how much of your deposit is instantly available to use, that amount will still count toward your other daily limits. For example, if you can instantly withdraw $100 from your deposit, that withdrawal will count toward your daily ATM withdrawal limit.

For deposits made Monday to Friday before 6 p.m., you’ll typically have access to the remaining amount of the deposit after 4 a.m., local time, the following business day.

For deposits made after 6 p.m. on weekends or Statutory holidays, you’ll typically have access to the remaining amount of the deposit after 4 a.m., local time, two business days later.

For your security, if a deposit seems out of the ordinary for you, we may hold your cheque for a longer period of time to verify it.

Why is the amount remaining on my client card daily limit not exact?

The amount you see on screen is a close approximation based on the number of transactions you’ve made that day and the value of those transactions.
