Royal Credit Line eStatement - Agreement and Consent

The following agreement and consent will govern the electronic delivery of your Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information to you. You must review this agreement and consent and confirm your acceptance at the bottom.

You consent to the electronic delivery of your Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information subject to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Definitions

    In this agreement and consent:

    Legal Information” means important legal information delivered in addition to your Royal Credit Line Statement, including, without limitation, changes to your Royal Credit Line Agreement, credit limit, interest rate, payment information, service fees or other charges.

    Message Centre” means our online communication centre located in Online Banking. Encrypted communications may be transmitted between you and us using the Message Centre.

    Online Banking” means our online banking service that you access via our Web site.

    Royal Credit Line Account” means a Royal Credit Line account that we have opened in your name or in your name and the name(s) of another borrower or borrowers.

    Royal Credit Line Statement” means the statement for your Royal Credit Line Account that we provide to you each month in accordance with your Royal Credit Line Agreement.

    You” and “Your” mean the individual who is enrolled to access this Online Banking service and who is a borrower on the Royal Credit Line Account and “we”, “us” and “our” mean Royal Bank of Canada.
  2. Electronic Delivery Process of Royal Credit Line Statement and Legal Information
    1. Your electronic Royal Credit Line Statement and Legal Information will be made available for you to review in Online Banking. We will provide you with access to your electronic Royal Credit Line Statement and Legal Information via the Message Centre and links on Online Banking Web pages.
    2. Depending on your statement date, you may receive one more paper statement in the mail before your option for electronic Royal Credit Line Statements is processed.
    3. We will notify you when your new electronic Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information are available by sending notification messages to the Message Centre. If you do not delete these notification messages, we will automatically delete them after 90 days from the date the messages first appear in the Message Centre.
    4. In addition to the notification in (c) above, you may select, in Online Banking, to have an Internet email sent to the personal email account you specify in Online Banking notifying you that your electronic Royal Credit Line Statement is available.
    5. You understand and agree that:
      1. you will access Online Banking on at least a monthly basis in order to review your electronic Royal Credit Line Statement and Legal Information;
      2. if you have requested email notification remember, (i) email communication is not secure or reliable and the email notification may not be received by you in a timely manner or at all, (ii) you must notify us of any change to your email address, and (iii) your request to receive email notification does not in any way change your obligations to access Online Banking at least once a month to review your electronic Royal Credit Line Statement and Legal Information; and
      3. we will not be responsible to you in any way for any damages or costs incurred by you as a result of your failure to: (i) receive an email notification, (ii) review your electronic Royal Credit Line Statement and Legal Information, or (iii) pay any amounts owing as indicated on your electronic Royal Credit Line Statement, including, but not limited to, any interest you may have to pay.
  3. Technical Requirements. All electronic Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information are presented as PDF files and require you to have Adobe* Reader* software installed on your computer. We do not own or operate, and are not responsible for, Adobe Reader software.
  4. Availability of Electronic Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information.
    1. During the time that you have chosen electronic Royal Credit Line Statements as your statement option, you will be able to view in Online Banking any Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information available to you (whether by paper or electronic means) as of May 23, 2007 (commencement date of this service) for up to seven (7) years from the end period of your Royal Credit Line Statement, after which time it will be automatically deleted by us.
    2. If you want to retain copies of your electronic Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information, you can save or print a copy of them while they are available to view in Online Banking. If you want us to give you a paper copy of an electronic Royal Credit Line Statement delivered in the past seven (7) years, we will do so on request. You may have to pay our standard fee for the paper copies.
  5. Review of Electronic Royal Credit Line Statement. You must review your electronic Royal Credit Line Statement and check all transactions, interest, charges, fees and LoanProtector insurance premiums, if applicable. If you notice any mistakes in your electronic Royal Credit Line Statement, you must let us know within 45 days of the Royal Credit Line Statement date. If you don?t tell us of any mistakes, our statements and records showing the amounts we have lent you and the amounts you have repaid will be considered accurate.
  6. Statement Options. You understand that it is your choice or the choice of any co-borrower on the Royal Credit Line Account, if applicable, to have your Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information delivered electronically and you or any co-borrower on the Royal Credit Line Account, if applicable, can change between electronic and paper delivery of your Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information at any time.
  7. Provision of Paper Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information. We still have the right to provide you with paper copies of your Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information in place of electronic Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information if we think that paper copies are necessary or if we are unable to deliver your Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information electronically.
  8. Changes to this Agreement and Consent. We may change this agreement and consent from time to time by giving you notice of the change electronically or in writing either before or after the change takes effect. Ways of giving notice of a change include giving notice to you (i) in your electronic Royal Credit Line Statement, (ii) in the Message Centre or otherwise in Online Banking, or (iii) sent to the email address you last provided via Online Banking or your mailing address last appearing on our records. If you access Online Banking after the effective date of the change it will mean that you have agreed and consented to the change.
  9. Electronic Royal Credit Line Statements are not part of the Document Presentment Service. The electronic delivery of your Royal Credit Line Statements is separate from the Document Presentment Service described in your Electronic Access Agreement. The terms and conditions of the Electronic Access Agreement regarding the Document Presentment Service do not apply to the electronic delivery of your Royal Credit Line Statements.
  10. Other Agreements: This agreement applies in addition to your Electronic Access Agreement, which governs your general use of Online Banking and your Royal Credit Line Agreement, which governs your Royal Credit Line Account.

To acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the above terms and conditions and that you consent to the electronic delivery of your Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information, click “I Agree”.

If you do not agree, click “I Do Not Agree” and you will continue to receive paper Royal Credit Line Statements and Legal Information.

You can print a copy of this agreement and consent at this time for your files. In addition, a copy of this agreement and consent is available in Online Banking under the link labelled “Legal” in the Web page footer.
