The Olympic Flame: It’s a universally recognized symbol of the spirit of the Olympic Games. As part of Olympic tradition, it’s relayed across the host country in the days leading up to the Games.
Now you have a chance to be a part of Olympic Games history.
Imagine what it would be like to be one of the few Canadians who will proudly run with the torch as it travels 35,000 km across every province and territory to Vancouver, where it will light the stadium flame and signal the start of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime honour that only a few lucky Canadians will experience. And the honour could be yours.
Create a better Canada and you could carry the flame
On November 20, 2008, RBC will launch the 2010 Olympic Torchbearer contest. This is your chance to contribute to the legacy of the Olympic Torch Relay as it passes through your community on the road to Vancouver.
For your chance to become an Olympic Torchbearer, simply visit the contest site and share your personal pledge to do something large or small in your daily life, to make Canada an even better place to live.
What will you pledge to do to make this great country of ours even greater? Will you drive less? Will you donate your gently used clothing to charity? Will you get involved with a community organization? Join Canadians from coast to coast to coast and help build a legacy for a better future.
RBC will select 3,600 lucky Olympic Torchbearers to each carry the Olympic Flame for 300 meters. Will you be one of them?
To enter, make your pledge to create a better Canada at www.rbc.com/carrythetorch.
