Stephanie McDonald of Glencoe, Ont. has won the $5,000 grand prize in the RBC Farm Photography Contest for her image, Country Boardroom.

McDonald's image shows two farmers (her father and uncle), discussing plans for the day over the barn gate. "It's how boardroom meetings are conducted in the country," says McDonald.

For this year's RBC Farm Photography Contest, Canadians were encouraged to present a photograph of an agricultural, environmental, agribusiness or rural lifestyle topic that they felt best depicted rural life.

Heidi Fuhr of Lloydminster, Alta. took the $1,000 second prize with her image, Behind the Scenes. The photo depicts the hard work of harvest from a unique angle - the side view mirror of a truck.

Ten more winners were awarded $250 each. These prize winners are:

"Knowing the challenging times Canadian producers have faced recently, it was great to see so many incredible, positive images of farm life and their optimism for the future," says Brian Little, RBC's Head of Agriculture and Agribusiness.

All 12 winning photographs will be published in the 2007 RBC Agribusiness Calendar, available at RBC branches across Canada by the end of December 2006. RBC has produced an agricultural calendar for more than 10 years.
