No. Costco and Walmart are categorized as warehouses, and therefore do not fall under the eligible Merchant Category Code (MCC 5411 Grocery Stores and Supermarkets), Costco and Walmart purchases will not qualify for the additional 0.5 WestJet points per $1 spent. Costco and Walmart purchases will earn the standard 1.5 points per $1 spent.
For existing primary WestJet RBC World Elite cardholders prior to November 5, 2025, the minimal annual spend will be tracked following the issuance of the annual World Elite companion voucher on or after November 5, 2025 for the subsequent voucher earn year.
For new WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard cardholders, the minimal annual spend will be tracked following the issuance of the welcome World Elite companion voucher on or after November 5, 2025 for the subsequent voucher earn year.
The $5,000 minimum annual spend qualification is all net purchases on the credit card account, less credits and refunds, and excluding cash advances, cash-like transactions, interest charges, fees, credit or debit. If the $5,000 minimum annual spend is met in a given voucher earn year, the annual World Elite companion voucher will be awarded 4-6 weeks after your WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard annual fee for that year is charged.
Yes, you can still use your World Elite companion voucher as you do today, including exchanging your companion voucher for lounge vouchers. Please note the number of lounge vouchers will be changed from 4 to 2. In addition, there are now more ways to exchange your companion voucher if desired, including exchanging for a 30% flight discount for one traveler, or a $200 credit towards a WestJet Vacations or Sunwing Vacations package.
You can exchange your companion voucher by logging into your WestJet Rewards account on your desktop or mobile app. Select an option and hit submit for an immediate exchange.

Nothing. The new Trip Cancellation and Mobile Device insurances will automatically be applied to your WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard as of November 5, 2025. The coverage will apply to claims incurred on or after November 5, 2025. All claims are subject to the terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions set out in the Certificates of Insurance. For there to be coverage, the mobile device, prepaid travel, accommodations and recreation arrangements must have been purchased with your WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard card and/or WestJet points. If only a partial payment is made using WestJet points, the entire balance must be paid using your WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard card for there to be coverage.
