Interac† Email Money Transfer Contest
- To Enter: Starting
November 7, 2003 at 12:01 a.m. EST visit www.rbcroyalbank.com and
log on to your RBC Royal Bank Online Banking account. Go to the “Pay
bills and Transfer funds” feature to send an Interac†
Email Money Transfer. Follow the steps and send funds to friends/family
or others during the contest period. You will be automatically eligible
and entered into the contest once the Interac Email Money
Transfer transmission is completed. Each time you use the Interac
Email Money Transfer service to transfer funds online during the contest
period using your RBC Royal Bank Online Banking account you are automatically
entered one time in the contest. Email transfers between Royal Bank
of Canada customers using the “Pay Another RBC Customer”
feature are not eligible. To be eligible, Interac Email Money
Transfer transactions must be completed no later than 11:59 p.m. EST
on January 31, 2004 (the “Contest Closing Date”).
No purchase necessary. For no
purchase entry send your name, address, day and evening phone number
and a 200 word or more essay to us at “RBC Royal Bank - The
Interac Online Money Transfer Contest”, P.O. Box 4004,
Paris, ON N3L 3W9, describing why you do or do not use RBC Royal Bank
Online Banking. Each essay must be handwritten, original and unique
and bear sufficient postage in a separate envelope. To be eligible,
mail in entries must be postmarked and received no later than 11:59
p.m. EST on January 31, 2004.
- Contest Eligibility:
The contest is open to all legal residents of Canada who have reached
the age of majority in their province or territory of residence and
excludes all employees (current or former) of Royal Bank of Canada,
its advertising and promotional agencies, contest judging organization,
and each of their parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, representatives,
agents (the "Contest Sponsors"), and those with whom they
are domiciled.
- Prizes: There
will be a total of Three (3) Grand Prizes awarded nationally, each
prize consisting of $10,000.00 Canadian dollars and to be deposited
in the confirmed winner’s RBC Royal Bank account. In the event
the selected entrant does not have an RBC Royal Bank account, a cheque
will be mailed to the winner. Delivery of each Grand Prize to take
4-6 weeks after confirmed winner has been contacted. Royal Bank of
Canada reserves the right to alter the distribution method of the
prizes upon declaration of a winner.
- Random Draws:
Three random draws will be conducted to award the prizes. . The first
draw for one of the Three (3) Grand Prizes will be held on or about
4:00 p.m. December 5, 2003 from all eligible entries received by November
30, 2003 at 11:59 p.m., the second draw for second Grand Prize will
be held on or about January 5, 2004 from all eligible entries received
by December 31, 2003 at 11:59 p.m. and the third and final draw for
the remaining third of the Three (3) Grand Prizes will be held on
or about February 16, 2004 from all eligible entries received by the
Contest Closing Date. All draws will be conducted by an independent
organization ("Contest Judges"). The eligible winner from
each draw will be contacted by telephone or e-mail within 48 hours
of that draw. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted within 14
days of any draw or if contacted does not claim his or her prize on
or before such date and time, or does not meet all of the contest
conditions, another entry will be selected from all remaining eligible
entries. The odds of being selected will depend on the number of eligible
entries received per month. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and
are non transferable. Any taxes or other incidental charges on each
Grand Prize are the sole responsibility of the winners.
- General Conditions:
To win, the selected entrants must comply with these rules
and must correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill
testing question to be administered by the Contest Judges. If the
account is held by joint account holders, both must comply with these
rules and each must answer a mathematical skill testing question,
unaided, to share that prize. .Should only one of the joint account
holders be ineligible or fail to comply the full amount of that prize
will be awarded to the other joint holder. The selected entrants will
be required to sign a standard release form confirming compliance
with and agreement to be bound by the contest rules and release of
the Contest Sponsors, their directors, officers, dealers, partners
and employees from any and all liability arising from the acceptance
of the prize as awarded. The decision of the Contest Judges is final.
This contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws
and regulations. Void where prohibited.
- For Residents of Quebec,
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity
contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses
et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of
a prize may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses
et des jeux only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
For all other participants, any litigation must be initiated in the
City of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Publicity:
By entering the contest, each entrant agrees to be bound by these
rules and the decision of the Contest Judges, and consents to the
use of his/her name, city of residence, likeness, photograph, image
and voice without further payment or compensation, in any publicity
or advertising in any medium carried out by any of the Contest Sponsors.
All entries become the property of Royal Bank of Canada and will not
be returned.
- Termination:
Contest Sponsors reserve the right to cancel, terminate or suspend
this contest, without prior notice, in whole or in part if for any
reason the contest is not capable of running as planned, as a result
of, including but not limited to, technical failure, or computer virus,
tampering, fraud, or corruption of security or proper administration
of the contest. In such event, a winner may be selected by randomly
drawing from among all valid entries received that for the applicable
draw month, up to such time of cancellation, termination or suspension.
The right is reserved to terminate or withdraw this contest at any
time without prior notice with approval from the Régie des
alcools, des courses et des jeux.
- Liability:
Each Contest Sponsor, their directors, officers, partners, dealers
and employees shall not be responsible for: any injuries, loss or
damages of any kind (compensatory, direct, incidental, consequential
or otherwise) with respect to, or in any way arising from, this contest,
the prizes awarded or entries or participants' or any other persons'
computer system(s); lost, stolen, destroyed, damaged, misdirected,
illegible, incomplete, inaccurate, not received, unsuccessfully transmitted,
or late entries which will be void; or incorrect or inaccurate capture
of entry information, technical failure or error, seeding or printing
errors, lost/delayed/garbled data, transmissions, omissions, interruption,
deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or
network, computer equipment, servers, software, traffic congestion
on the Internet or any Web site or any other online communication
problems or any combination thereof. Entry materials that have been
tampered with, reproduced, falsified or altered are void. Any attempt
to deliberately damage any Web site or to undermine the legitimate
operation of this contest is a violation of laws and may be subject
to remedies and damages, including criminal prosecution.
