OFFICIAL RULES for the RBC® $10,000 Dream Vacation Sweepstakes

1. HOW TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. There are three (3) ways to enter the Sweepstakes:
   
   
   1. From 12:00:01 AM (EST) July 3, 2007 to 11:59:59 (EST) June 30, 2008 (the “Sweepstakes Period”) visit the contest website at www.rbc.com/dreamvacation3 complete the Sweepstakes Boarding Pass (the "Entry Form") with your full name, date of birth, complete mailing address (including postal code), daytime telephone number (including area code) and email address. Select the "submit" icon and you will automatically be entered once. OR
   2. Upon receipt of a consumer promotional mail piece describing the Sweepstakes, complete the included Entry Form with your full name, date of birth, complete mailing address (including postal code), daytime telephone number (including area code), and deposit your completed entry form in the entry box located at the participating RBC Royal Bank® branch identified in the consumer promotional mail piece. OR
   3. Upon receipt of a consumer promotional mail piece describing the Sweepstakes, during the Contest Period, visit the website address identified in the consumer promotional mail piece, click on the contest icon and complete the Entry Form with your full name, date of birth, complete mailing address (including postal code), and daytime telephone number (including area code). Select the “submit” icon and you will be automatically entered once.
   1. On a monthly basis all promotional mail pieces will be data entered and those entrants who have opted-in to being contacted by an RBC representative may be contacted about their specific needs identified on the entry form.
   2. Limit of one (1) entry per person regardless of the method entry. If a person enters more than once, all his/her entries will be disqualified.
   3. To be eligible for the first early bird prize, entries must be received on or before 11:59:59 PM (EST) on September 28, 2007. To be eligible for the second early bird prize, all entries must be received on or before 11:59:59 PM (EST) on December 28, 2007. To be eligible for the third early bird prize, all entries must be received on or before 11:59:59 PM (EST) on March 28, 2008.
   4. To be eligible for the grand prize, all entries must be received on or before 11:59:59 PM (EST) on June 30, 2008 (the “Sweepstakes Closing Date”).
2. PRIZES:There will be a total of four (4) prizes available to be won. GRAND PRIZE: There will be one (1) grand prize consisting of $10,000 CDN in Carlson Wagonlit Travel certificates to be redeemed at any participating Carlson Wagonlit Travel agency in Canada. Travel certificates will be issued in the name of the Grand Prize winner (as written on his/her Entry Form) and when booking a trip, the Grand Prize winner must be one of the traveling parties. Upon booking, if there is any remaining balance from the $10,000 in certificates, the remaining funds will be held as a credit towards future travel bookings at Carlson Wagonlit Travel. All travel certificates expire two (2) years from the date the travel certificates are issued. The Grand Prize winner is responsible for items of a personal nature and all other costs and expenses incurred in connection with claiming and using the Grand Prize which are not specifically stated as included herein such as, personal expenses, gratuities, ground transportation to and from the departing airport or any other expenses not described in the applicable travel brochure. EARLY BIRD PRIZES: There will be three (3) early bird prizes (each an “Early Bird Prize”) available to be won each consisting of $1,000.00 CDN in Carlson Wagonlit Travel certificates to be redeemed at any participating Carlson Wagonlit Travel agency in Canada (see above Grand Prize details for travel certificate stipulations which also apply to the Early Bird prizes).
   Prizes must be accepted as awarded without substitution and are not transferable or convertible to cash and are not for resale. RBC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute the prize awarded with a prize of equivalent or greater value for any reason. Limit of one (1) prize per person during the Sweepstakes Period.
3. DRAWS: There will be three (3) Early Bird random draws and one (1) Grand Prize random draw.
   EARLY BIRD DRAWS: Early Bird random draws will be held in Mississauga, Ontario on November 15, 2007 at 10:00 AM (EST) (first early bird draw), on January 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM (EST) (second early bird draw), and on April 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM (EST) (third early bird draw), from amongst all eligible entries received on or before June 30, 2008 each Early Bird Sweepstakes Closing Date. Odds of being selected for each Early Bird Prize depends on the total number of Early Bird eligible entries received on or before the applicable Early Bird sweepstakes closing dates. Selected entrants will be contacted by phone or email within three (3) days of the applicable Early Bird draw date. If for any reason a selected entrant cannot be contacted within three (3) days of the Early Bird draw date, his/her entry will be disqualified and another entrant will be randomly selected until such time as contact can be made with a selected entrant or until such time as there are no remaining eligible entries for the applicable Early Bird draw date. All Early Bird entries for each respective Early Bird draw will be carried over to each of the next Early Bird draws and the Grand Prize draw. GRAND PRIZE DRAW: The Grand Prize random draw will be held in Mississauga, ON, on July 22, 2008 at 10:00 AM (EST) from among all eligible entries received on or before June 30, 2008 ("the Sweepstakes Closing Date"). Odds of being selected for the Grand Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received on or before the Sweepstakes Closing Date. The selected entrant will be contacted by phone within three (3) days of the Grand Prize draw date. If for any reason a selected entrant cannot be contacted within three (3) days of the Grand Prize draw date, his/her entry will be disqualified and another entrant will be randomly selected until such time as contact can be made with a selected entrant or until such time as there are no remaining eligible entries.
4. ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win, a person must be a resident of Canada, who has reached the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which he/she resides and who is not an employee of RBC, its affiliated companies or agents, their respective advertising or promotional agencies, the independent contest organization, companies providing prizes for this Sweepstakes or a person with whom they are domiciled.
5. GENERAL: By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of the independent contest organization with respect to all aspects of the Sweepstakes, which are final. Entrants agree to release and hold harmless RBC, its affiliated and related companies, business partners, advertising and promotional agencies, prize suppliers, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns and all others associated with the development and execution of the Sweepstakes (collectively, the "Releasees"), from and against any and all manner of action, causes of action, suits, debts, covenants, contracts, claims and demands, including legal fees and expenses, whatsoever, including but not limited to, claims based on negligence, breach of contract and fundamental breach and liability for physical injury, death, or property damage which the entrants or his/her administrators, heirs, successors or assigns might have or could have, by reason of or arising out of the entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes and/or in connection with the acceptance or use of any Prize.
6. Before being declared a winner, each selected entrant must first correctly answer without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a mathematical skill-testing question posed by telephone. Each selected entrant will also be required to sign a Declaration and Release Form (the "Release Form") confirming compliance with the Official Rules, acceptance of the prize as awarded, without substitution, and releasing the Releasees from any liability in connection with a prize or this contest. The Release Form must be returned within the time period specified on the Release Form or the prize will be forfeited and another entrant will be selected, and the process above will be repeated until such time that there are three (3) early bird winners and one (1) confirmed grand prize winners. Prizes will be mailed or sent by courier by RBC to the confirmed prize winners mailing address as stated in the entry form, within sixty (60) days of receipt of the duly completed Release Forms.
7. RBC accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or claims caused by or resulting from an entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes or in connection with the winner's acceptance and use of the prize. By entering, each entrant consents to the use of his/her name, address (city and province) and/or photographs or likeness, and appearance at publicity events without compensation, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf of RBC with respect to this Sweepstakes if he/she is declared a winner.
8. RBC will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, falsified, misaddressed, postage due, misdirected, delayed or destroyed entries and all such entries are void. RBC does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing or typographical errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software, any combination thereof, or any other causes beyond its control, RBC reserves the right, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et jeux ("RACJ"), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend in whole or in part this Sweepstakes at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the online portion of the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as originally planned, such as tampering or infection by computer virus, the RBC reserves the right, to cancel the online portion of the Sweepstakes and conduct the draw from all previously received eligible online entries and all Branch ballot box entries received by the Sweepstakes Closing Date. RBC and the independent contest organization are not responsible for electronic communications which are undeliverable as a result of any form of active or passive filtering of any kind or insufficient space in entrant's mailbox to receive email messages. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void. Any attempts to deliberately damage any web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, RBC reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution and to disqualify an entrant from this Sweepstakes or any other promotion conducted by RBC now or in the future. In the event it is determined that an entrant has entered in a manner contrary to these rules and/or has submitted more than the number of entries permitted by these rules, the entrant and all of the entries submitted by the entrant will be disqualified.
9. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, entries made online will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person assigned to an email address by an Internet service provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email addresses. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder for the email address associated with the winning entry.
10. All entries become the property of RBC, and none will be acknowledged or returned. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrants. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited by law.
11. For residents of Québec: Any litigation in regards to the conduct and awarding of any prize in this publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et jeux (RACJ) for a ruling. Any litigation in regards to the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the RACJ only for purposes of helping the parties reach a settlement. For all other participants, any litigation must be initiated in the City of Toronto, in Ontario, Canada.
12. The personal information collected from you will be used for the purpose of administering the contest.
