BiMPay is Barbados' national instant payment system, launched by the Central Bank of Barbados. It lets you send and receive payments in BBD instantly - any time of day or night.
You'll continue using Send to Local Bank and Business Pay through RBC Digital Banking. Behind the scenes, your payments now move through BiMPay - which means they get there faster. You'll see the "Powered by BiMPay" logo confirming the upgrade is in place.
It's a digital wallet that lets you send, receive, and request payments using aliases, QR codes, and account numbers - right from your phone.
Search for BiMPay in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, download it, and follow the registration steps.
It's a simple three-step process: (1) Log in to RBC Digital Banking, (2) Go to the BiMPay section and generate your BiMPay Token, (3) Paste the token into the BiMPay app during registration. That's it - you're connected.
Your alias is created automatically when you register your wallet. Your contact number becomes your alias, so people can send money directly to you without needing your full account details.
Tap the QR Code icon in the top right of the BiMPay app. Your unique QR code will appear - your account details stay masked for privacy. Share it with whoever needs to send you a payment.
You have two easy options: (1) By QR code - Select QR Code, enter the amount and a short description, then tap "Request by QR." Your QR code is generated instantly. (2) By alias - Share your contact number alias with the person paying you. They'll enter it when sending the payment.
Tap Send, select Account Number, then enter the amount and account details. Including the branch transit number helps make sure your payment reaches exactly the right place. Example: Branch Transit: 12345, Account Number: 123456789.
Yes. The BiMPay Wallet has a daily transaction limit of BBD 500.
At time of launch, fees will not be applied to BiMPay transactions. However, fees are assessed on an ongoing basis so be sure to refer to the RBC Schedule of Fees and Charges for updates.
BiMPay is built on industry-standard security controls. To keep your account safe, protect your BiMPay Token and secure your device - treat them the same way you would your PIN.
