If you see a monthly fee charge on your first statement, please don’t worry. You’ll be credited on your next month’s statement.
No. Only one offer is available per client, no matter how many eligible accounts you may open during the offer period.
If you switch from the RBC Day to Day Banking Account to another personal banking account during the offer period, the monthly fee for the new Day to Day Banking Account will not be waived and the monthly fee for the new personal banking account will apply from the day of the switch forward.

No. This offer is only for clients who have never had an RBC Personal Banking Account (chequing account) with RBC nor qualified for any of our offers related to opening a Personal Banking Account at any time during the Promotional Period or in the five year period before the start of the Promotional Period. What happens after 12 months? Will I start paying fees?

- Complete at least 2 out of 3 regular account activities, such as pre-authorized payment, direct deposit or eligible bill payment14
When will I receive the $150 Cash Reward if I qualify?
$150 will be deposited into your new eligible account within 6 to 10 weeks of you completing the Qualifying Criteria, provided that this is completed by March 24, 2026. This means two of the following activities were completed: your direct deposit payroll was deposited to your new account, two bill payments were made or two pre-authorized payments were debited from your new account.
How long do I need to keep my account open and continue with the qualifying activities?
Your new bank account must remain open and in good standing, and the Qualifying Criteria you performed to get the Cash Reward (such as payroll/pension deposit, bill payment or pre-authorized payment) must remain in effect until after January 13, 2027.
If I opened a joint account with my partner, do we each receive the cash reward?
Only the primary account holder who is not an existing owner of a personal banking account is eligible for the offer. The primary account holder must not have previously been a joint account holder within the past 5 years.
Can I still qualify if I don’t use an automated recurring payroll direct deposit?
Yes, as long as you set up and complete two pre-authorized monthly payments and pay two bills and both payments were debited from the new eligible account by March 24, 2026.
What types of payments count as Pre-Authorized Payments and meet the offer requirements?
If you choose to qualify for this offer by setting up two pre-authorized monthly payments, the payments must be withdrawn from your account by March 24, 2026. You can set up the pre-authorized monthly payments from two different companies – or, if you set them up with the same company, they must be for different account numbers. Pre-authorized monthly payments include, but are not limited to, utility bill payments (hydro, water, cable, phone, internet), pre-authorized contributions to your investments and gym membership payments.
If I open more than one banking account, can I get more than $150?
No. The $150 offer is limited to one reward per customer during the Promotional Period.
Do I need to be a new RBC client to get the chequing account offer?
