refers to Non-Registered Accounts.

is the amount our client invests at the beginning of the term.

is the amount of interest we’ll pay to our client.

is the interest that is reinvested into the amount you originally invested into your GIC and any interest you’ve earned during the term of your GIC.

stands for Guaranteed Investment Certificate. This investment is guaranteed to earn interest at a set rate.

is a unique 11-digit account number that is used to identify a GIC.

indicates the GIC product e.g. Non-Redeemable or One-Year Cashable GIC.

is the account to which your interest will be paid.

refers to the account in which our clients choose to have their interest paid.

is the way our clients choose to have their interest paid out to them. There are two main interest options: simple and compound.

is a fixed percentage of the investment that we’ll pay to our client.

is the number of times interest will be paid to our client during the year. The interest payment frequency can be annual or when the investment matures.

is the first day of the investment term.

refers to the issuer of your GIC.

is the date on which your investment ends.

is how the GIC will be fulfilled on the maturity date.

is the value of your investment at the end of its term.

is RBC’s base rate for a given term and investment amount.

is the amount initially invested.

refers to the investment being reinvested into a new term.

is the date on which the term of your new GIC will begin.

is an option you can use to save your progress and renewal instructions before you exit your online renewal session.

is interest that is calculated and paid at the frequency selected by the client.

is the amount of time your GIC will be held before it matures.

is the total rate you’ll receive and it includes our base rate and a bonus rate.
