The AgriInvest Account is a business deposit account designed specifically for Agricultural clients who are eligible⁽¹⁾ to participate in the AgriInvest program under Growing Forward, a Government of Canada initiative.

It provides farmers with flexible coverage for small income declines, as well as support for investments to mitigate risks or improve market income. With this interest-bearing, no-fee account⁽²⁾, farmers deposit money and receive matching government contributions allowing them to save money as a contingency against income reduced due to failing crops, poor economic conditions, and more.

The AgriInvest account offers these features and benefits:

Note: In order to open this account, bring in your original, signed, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC)-issued AgriInvest Account Initiation Form.

The tiered balance segments on which interest is paid for the AgriInvest Account are:

• $0 to $4,999.99
• $5,000 to $9,999.99
• $10,000 to $24,999.99
• $25,000 to $99,999.99
• $100,000 to $249,999.99
• $250,000 and over

Deposit interest for this account is calculated on the applicable portion of the daily closing balance in each tier at the corresponding rate for that tier. Interest is credited monthly to your account as of the first business day following the end of the month.
