Two Factor Authentication is now available!
At RBC, our priority is to protect your information and ensure the security of your financial transactions. Our Enhanced Security measures feature two points of user input before your accounts can be accessed. This means that you will have additional protection against threats such as identity theft and phishing.

Personal Clients
RBC Royal Bank is pleased to introduce the Soft Token, which can be accessed via an App you load on your smart phone/tablet. You are required to use it every time you log in to Online Banking and Mobile Banking whether on your desktop, phone or tablet.
How do I get my Soft Token?
You can download your Soft Token by installing the Entrust Identity Guard Mobile app from your device app store.
How do I register for my Soft Token?
Please call the Advice Centre and we will register your Soft Token for you.
When do I use my Soft Token?
Once the Soft Token is registered, you will need to use it every time you log in to Online Banking and Mobile Banking. You will no longer be required to answer a Personal Verification Question (PVQ) upon login.
Two factor authentication is an added security feature that allows the online banking user to access his/her account using not only a user ID and password but a unique security code generated by a token.

Two Factor Authentication will give our clients additional protection against threats such as identity theft and phishing so that they can bank digitally with confidence.
The Tokens are free of charge to all our customers.

After you've downloaded the Token/ Entrust Identity Guard Mobile app from the following app stores to your smartphone, call the Advice Centre.
- Google Play
- Apple App Store
- Windows app store
- Blackberry World

The Advice Centre representative will provide you with the information needed to setup your Soft Token including:
- Name: RBC User ID
- Serial Number
- Activation Code
- When prompted, choose a PIN and confirm it. The PIN is mandatory whenever you open the app. Then, a registration code will be generated, which you will need to provide to the Call Centre Representative to activate the token.
- Go to Online Banking: https://caribbean.rbcroyalbank.com or download the RBC Caribbean Mobile Banking app.
- Please enter your user ID and password.
- Then you will be prompted to enter the one-time security code from your Soft Token. Note that the lifetime of each one-time security code is 30 seconds, therefore give yourself enough time.
- You are in!
You can have several devices (laptop, tablet, smart phone and so on). The Soft Token will be downloaded on only one smart phone or tablet. When you are prompted for your second-factor authentication on any of the devices you are logged into Digital banking on, you will enter the one-time security code from your Soft Token downloaded on the chosen smart phone or tablet. Note that the lifetime of each one-time security code is 30 seconds, therefore give yourself enough time.
Users can add more than one ID (for instance, both personal and business IDs) into the Soft Token app on their device. Once the additional ID is registered by Advice Centre, they can use it in the same Soft Token app. There is no need to use separate devices for each ID.
Once the Soft Token is activated, you will no longer be required to answer a Personal Verification Question (PVQ) upon login; instead you will only be required to enter the security code generated by your Soft Token.
If you enter the incorrect one-time security code, a message will appear asking try again. After 3 incorrect entries, your account will be disabled and you need to contact the Advice Centre to unlock your Digital Banking account.
In case of loss or theft of your Soft Token immediately call Advice Centre.
Please call the Advice Centre in order to reset your PIN.
One reason may be because the current time on your device does not match the current time in your time zone. Open the date and time settings of your device and ensure that the current time and your time zone match. If that does not work, you will be required to call the Advice Centre to have the token synchronized again.
No, you can use the Soft Token to log into your RBC Digital Banking account on your web browser as well.
There are multiple reasons why this may happen, it can be any of the following:
- You may need to clear your cache.
- Your phone is rooted/jailbroken.
- You are running an unsupported version of Android or iOS.
- There is not enough space on your device.
- You do not have the right permissions to install the software on the phone. This may be due to restrictions implemented by your company on your corporate phone.

What are my Two Factor Authentication options?
RBC Royal Bank is pleased to introduce the Soft Token and Hard Token for Business & Private Banking clients. You can choose one of either tokens to enhance your online banking security.
You are required to use it every time you log in to Online Banking and Mobile Banking whether on your desktop, phone or tablet.
- Soft Token is installed on your smart phone/ tablet. You are required to use it every time you log in to Online Banking and Mobile Banking.
- Hard Token is a physical device and you are required to use it every time you log in to Online Banking and Mobile Banking.
How do I get my Soft Token/ Hard Token?
- You can download your Soft Token by installing the Entrust Identity Guard Mobile app from your device app store.
- Hard Token will be provided to you by your Relationship Manager.
How do I register for my Soft Token/ Hard Token?
- For Soft Token users, please call the Advice Centre and we will register it for you.
- For Hard Token users, note that the device will be automatically activated by RBC in two business days after you receive it from the Relationship Manager.

Tokens have a built in battery and life span of 5 years. When your token expires, RBC will replace the Token at no cost.
