Travellers Over Age 60

Plans and Coverages for Travellers 60 and Over

If you're a frequent traveller or a Snowbird who enjoys the Florida sunshine several months a year, you probably know the unexpected can happen suddenly. You may also know that you leave up to 90% of your government health insurance plan (GHIP) behind when you travel outside Canada.(1)

Travel HealthProtector® insurance is a cost-effective way to help safeguard not only your health, but your finances.

  • A single 15-day trip could cost less than $75 for someone age 65-69.
  • No medical questions required to be completed for a single trip up to 15 days for those under age 75.
  • Clients aged 60-74 who are travelling 15 days or less and choose not to fill out a medical questionnaire will automatically be placed into Category C.
  • For clients that are 60 years of age and over, you’ll be accepted into one of the five rate categories below, regardless of your health, after answering a few simple medical questions.
