Travellers Over Age 60

Plans and Coverages for Travellers 60 and Over

If you're a frequent traveller or a Snowbird who enjoys the Florida sunshine several months a year, you probably know the unexpected can happen suddenly. Government health insurance plans may not cover all emergency medical expenses once you leave your home province/territory and typically cover only a limited portion once you leave the country.

Travel HealthProtector® insurance is a cost-effective way to help safeguard not only your health, but your finances.

  • No medical questions required to be completed for a single trip up to 15 days for those under age 75.
  • Clients age 60-74 who are travelling 15 days or less and choose not to fill out a medical questionnaire will automatically be placed into Category C.
  • For clients that are 60 years of age and over, you’ll be accepted into one of the five rate categories below, regardless of your health, after answering a few simple medical questions. To determine what category you fit into, get an online quote today.
Category Are unlimited emergency benefits included? Number of days your condition must be stable
A No pre-existing medical condition applies

Note: Definitions of specific current medical conditions and other details of coverage can also be found in the Certificate of Insurance pdf (Adobe* Reader* software required). Be sure you understand any limitations and exclusions that may affect your plan by reading this. You may also find the Certificate of Insurance in the back pocket of the brochure at your local branch.
