For clients whose mortgage was migrated in 2024 – If you’re considering refinancing, prepaying a large amount, prepaying the full amount, or renegotiating your migrated mortgage, understand how prepayment charges work and ways to avoid these charges.

Frequently Asked Questions for Personal Banking Clients

To access historical transactions and statements, sign in to Online Banking, click Documents/Statements on the Account Summary page, then click HSBC Bank Canada Documents & Transactions.
Once you receive your new Royal Bank of Canada bank account number, you can order cheques when logged into your RBC Online Banking or by speaking with an advisor. Your first Royal Bank of Canada cheque book ordered, per account, within your first 12 months upon migration, will be free. Once you receive your new Royal Bank of Canada cheque book, please ensure to destroy your previous cheques.
As part of your migration to RBC, the monthly account package fee on your RBC Chequing account(s) migrated will be waived for a minimum period of 12 months. You will receive prior notice of when this waiver will come to an end. After that period, you may be eligible for additional rebates and monthly fee waivers at RBC.
All cheques issued from your previous bank account will be cleared/negotiated by Royal Bank of Canada up to 12-months after migration.
No, there is no action required on your part. Any direct deposits (e.g., payroll, tax refunds, HST credits, etc.) being made to your previous chequing or savings account(s) will continue to be credited to your migrated RBC Royal Bank of Canada account(s), unless you provide alternative instructions.

Insurance Information

You will need to complete and submit a claim package to the insurance company.
