Earning Cash Back is Easy
Before you can access offers and earn cash back, you need to download the latest version of the RBC Launch app from the App Store. Follow on the on screen instructions, review and accept the terms and conditions and you’re good to go.
There are two ways to access offers and earn cash back from your favourite retailers.
You find the deals
Easily search for merchants and products, find cash back deals and RBC Offers and activate them right from the RBC Launch app.
- Browse available offers from the main dashboard or use the Search function to find merchants, products and offers.
- When you see an offer you like, click on it to review the offer details – be sure to take note of any specifics.
- Click “Load offer” to activate it.
- Visit the merchant website and browse, shop and pay as you do today.
- Your cash back will be automatically deposited into your RBC Bank account(Disclaimer)2 or applied as a credit on your RBC credit card statement based on the terms of the offer.
Let the deals find you
Browse and shop online as you do today and receive instant alerts whenever there is a cash back deal available.
How it works:
- Ensure you have enabled the Safari browser extension on your iOS mobile device (instructions available in RBC Launch).
- Launch Safari on you iOS mobile device and start to browse and shop.
- If there’s a cash back deal available or there's a cash back deal available from a similar retailer, an alert will appear on your screen.
- Activate the deal and make your purchase.
- Your cash back will be automatically deposited into your RBC Bank account(Disclaimer)2 after a holding period.
FAQs
Simply download the latest version of the RBC Launch app from the App Store and follow the onboarding steps in the app*. You can access the Shopping by RBC service once you have completed the onboarding, which includes reading and accepting our Shopping by RBC Terms and Privacy Statement.
*You will only see the onboarding steps if you have an RBC Royal Bank Canadian dollar personal deposit account and an RBC credit card.
At this time, RBC Launch is available on Apple iPhones with a minimum operating system of iOS 14.0.
To take advantage of the Cash Back Deals safari extension, you will need a minimum operation system of iOS 15.0.
The Shopping by RBC service is currently only presented to clients with both an RBC Royal Bank Canadian dollar personal deposit account and an RBC credit card.
Pending cash back refers to cash back earned that is subject to a holding period based on the merchant's return policy and when the merchant funds the offer. If you return your purchase, for example, you won’t receive the cash back. Once the holding period ends, your cash back will be deposited into your RBC chequing or savings account during the next monthly cash back cycle.

Yes, please check the RBC Launch app frequently as new offers are added on a regular basis.
Each program has its own requirements, restrictions and other conditions.

You can see your total cash back earned on the dashboard of the RBC Launch app or within the new Shopping tab. The cash back earned includes cash back you have earned in the last 12 months through RBC Offers as well as Cash Back Deals. If you want a more detailed view, simply click the cash back tile to view your earnings dashboard.
For RBC Offers:
As long as you loaded the offer before making a qualifying purchase you may receive the cash back in as fast as two (2) business days but it may also take up to 4-6 weeks following the end of the offer period before the cash back is credited or deposited (as applicable) to the credit or debit account you used to make the qualifying purchase.
For Cash Back Deals:
Your cash back is subject to a holding period based on the merchant's return policy and when the merchant funds the offer. If you return your purchase for example, you won’t receive the cash back. Once the holding period ends, the cash back we receive from the merchant will be deposited into your RBC chequing or savings account during the next monthly cash back cycle.
There are a number of factors that could influence the cash back you receive from Cash Back Deals. For instance, cash back is earned on the pre-tax Canadian dollar equivalent of qualifying purchases, certain products may be excluded from the offer, or the merchant may report transactions in a foreign currency.

Shopping by RBC is an evolution of the previous Cash Back Deals service. It combines the functionality of the Cash Back Deals shopping companion that presented relevant offers while you were shopping using the Safari browser extension with a shopping journey within the RBC Launch app where you can search for products and merchants, and take advantage of offers from both the RBC Offers program and Cash Back Deals program. You will be able to see all our offers in one single place so that you can load the ones of interest to you before you shop.
If you no longer wish to use the Shopping by RBC service, you can disable the service in the settings tab. When you disable Shopping by RBC, you will no longer have access to search, view, or load the offers within the service. You will also not be able to use the Cash Back Deals safari extension through the safari browser.
If you want to use the Shopping by RBC service again, go to the settings tab of RBC Launch to re-enable the service.
To receive cash back, you need to maintain your applicable account in good standing until the cash back is paid. If you disable the Shopping by RBC service you will still receive your cash back as long as the applicable account is in good standing when the cash back is paid.
Shopping by RBC is a personalized service. To personalize the offers that are presented to you, we use your shopping search history and your RBC transaction history, which allows us to find the best deals for you from our collection of offers.

Shopping by RBC is currently not available in French.
RBC will only store or retain information when you visit a participating merchant’s site using the Safari browser on your device. We will not store or retain any information about your online activity while you are browsing other websites.
RBC will only use the limited information we retain about your online activity (i.e. when you visit a participating merchant’s site) to fulfill offers from Cash Back Deals. We will not share or sell this information to any third parties (other than our service provider who assists us to provide the service and can only use for the purpose of facilitating the service).

Shopping by RBC is your personalized shopping companion where you can search, shop and save through our collection of cash back and Avion points offers.
Coupons is a new feature in the Cash Back Deals safari extension that will notify you, when you are browsing a participating merchant’s website using the Safari browser on your device, if there are coupons available for that website. If coupons are available, you can check if the coupons apply to the items you are purchasing on the checkout screen. If so, we will test the coupons and apply the coupon with the greatest discount for you at the time of check out.
Yes, you can. The coupon will lower your purchase price at the time of checkout and the cash back will be earned on this lower purchase price.
Note: If you check if the coupons apply to your purchase, we will automatically activate the cash back offer as well if you haven't done so already.
If you are browsing in the safari browser, we have a new feature called alternative merchant alerts that will notify you if there are offers available at other merchants with similar products and/or services, if the merchant website you are on does not have an offer available.
If you no longer want to receive the alert for a specific merchant website, you can disable it at the bottom of the alert and you will no longer receive the alternative merchant alert at this website again.
